The community has benefited from the hydrotherapy services provided by BHN for more than 30 years.
Injuries can be treated and rehabilitations can be aided by exercising in a heated pool.
Benefiting the body
Warm water supports the body, improves stability, stimulates circulation, reduces pain and provides strength training resistance.
Benefiting the mind
As well as providing physical benefits, hydrotherapy also provides psychological benefits, such as relaxation caused by warmth and weightlessness, increased health and well-being, increased self-confidence, and an improved mood as a result of positive interactions with other volunteers and clients.

Get in the swim
Our classes are designed with the health and safety of clients, volunteers, and staff in mind. Wearing masks on the pool deck, maintaining physical distance, and following hand hygiene guidelines are all part of the COVID-safe plan in place. It is possible for rules to change according to COVID management protocols in the organisation from time to time.
Additionally, hydrotherapy guidelines require:
- At all times, keep a distance of 1.5 metres from others on the pool deck
- Changing rooms and showers are only available after exiting the pool
- Arrive in your bathing suit.
- Clients are required to leave promptly after sessions to allow the next class to begin (there is a 15 minute gap between classes).
