BHN Welcomes Minister for Health and Aged Care

BHN Welcomes Minister for Health and Aged Care

On Wednesday 17th May, we received the Minister for Health and Aged Care, Mark Butler; Victorian Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, Mary-Anne Thomas and Member for Macnamara, Josh Burns to our South Melbourne site.

The key purpose of the visit was to announce the Federal Government’s commitment to establish 10 Medicare Urgent Care Clinics in Victoria. Eight clinics are already operational across the State with a new Sunbury clinic due to open in June and an expression of interest for a clinic in inner-Melbourne commencing soon.

The MPs were met by BHN CEO Damian Ferrie and Chairperson Janice Munt who support this initiative to help take the pressure off hospitals and make it easier for Australians to receive care when and where they need it.
