BHN Welcomes Prime Minister and new funding to strengthen Medicare
Last week, BHN hosted some high-profile guests from the Federal and State Governments to highlight new Federal budget funding allocated to improve access to health care for those who need it most.
On Tuesday we welcomed Prime Minister the Hon Anthony Albanese and Member for Higgins Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah MP to our Prahran campus for a visit and press conference that detailed the funding to strengthen Medicare and assist General Practices to stay viable.
These measures include:
- Tripling the bulk billing incentive
- Introduction of Medicare item for consultations 60+ mins for management of complex health issues
- Supporting Priority groups access to GPs
- Delivery of team based multi-disciplinary care
