Mental wellbeing

Brain Bloom

Brain Bloom is our free youth mental health initiative designed to support the mental health and wellbeing of secondary school students. Developed in 2019 and launched in 2020 with two pilot schools, Brain Bloom has three core aims:

  1. Increase mental health literacy
  2. Decrease stigma around mental health
  3. Increase knowledge of support pathways

Following the success of the pilot, we have developed a practitioner toolkit to support and guide educators, youth workers or other practitioners working with young people, through the steps to implement and support this program.

Youth Voice

Youth Voice is a group of young people that join forces to have their voices heard in their community. Their aim is to raise awareness about the social and wellbeing issues that are relevant to young people.

In 2022, Youth Voice came together and chose to focus on the topic of mental health. Partnering with Storyscape, the group participated in a 2-day workshop where they planned and filmed a series of short films exploring the topic of young people & mental health. The films were launched on World Mental Health Day (October 10th) and shared on the Youth Voice Instagram over the course of the week.

The films share insightful and inspiring messages from young people.
