By participating in these programs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families are able to maintain or form a connection to culture and their sense of identity. They will also have access to relevant BHN services to ensure the needs of the family are met.

  • Strengthening cultural identity and connection for Indigenous women
  • Support for Mental Health + AOD
  • Pregnant women’s support
  • Support for family violence, especially through BHN’s family violence program
  • An ongoing women’s group that provides health and cultural education
  • Collaboration with other IAEP workers

Accessing Indigenous Women and Children Program

This service is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It can be delivered in the community and at the BHN site in St Kilda Monday through Friday between 9am – 5pm.
