What level of care am I eligible to receive?
My Aged Care determines what level of Home Care Package you are eligible for. The Australian Government funds four types of Home Care Packages.
All four levels of Home Care Packages are available at Better Health Network:
Level 1 Basic Care Needs
People who need basic levels of support, usually with everyday tasks, will benefit from this package. This option is ideal for preventing premature and unnecessary admission to a residential aged care facility.
An Australian Government subsidy of approximate value of $10,588.65 will be accessible to you through home care package.
Level 2 Low-level care needs
This package is designed for those who require low levels of support. Level 2 recipients may be eligible for residential aged care, but would prefer to remain at home.
An Australian Government subsidy of approximate value of $18,622.30 will be accessible to you through home care package.
Level 3 Intermediate care needs
This package is designed to meet the needs of those who require intermediate levels of assistance. Level 3 recipients are more likely to be eligible for residential aged care but would prefer to remain at home. It is also suitable for people who need nursing care at home.
An Australian Government subsidy of approximate value of $40,529.60 will be accessible to you through home care package.
Level 4 High-level care needs
This package is designed for those who require the highest level of support. Level 4 recipients have the option of entering residential aged care, but prefer to live at home. People with complex care needs should receive this level.
An Australian Government subsidy of approximate value of $61,440.45 will be accessible to you through home care package.
*Every year, the maximum government contribution may increase. In the case of income-tested care fees, the amount you will pay will vary.
Access to these services requires prior approval through My Aged Care.
